hello folks.

i found this website and a link to the above lane by accident.

i even feel a fraud posting on here as i own a daihatsu fourtrak, however as the thread from herts and beds guys is huge i thought this would be the best place to ask.

are people still doing this track. its just down the road from me and if i have the right place it comes out onto the A507 just down from the turning for lidlington?

i am a first time green laner and would welcome any advice or guidance.

please dont flame me for not owning a land rover:(

Hi bigmac,

You should have just gone to the herts laners past page or searched we discuss this lane regularly...

It is an easy, non damagin and non challenging lane, and it is still open. It passes through some lovely woodland (great for taking the dog to or letting the kids out to play for half hour!)

Additionally, although there used to be a watery mud run at one end that has now been filled, ready for centreparcs to build their new place next to!

See this video

Oh BTW... You will get flamed and ripped for not owning a landy... but don't worry I had a shogun when I first joined..."You'll learn" they said... and I did!

Please look at the numerous threads relating to people who have gone green laning alone - I include myself here.

Remember that a simple puncture or breakdown in the middle of a lne can cause some serious inconvenience and in extreme circumstances... embarrassment.

At the very least come and meet the guys and get some numbers of people who will help you out if you screw up.

We have a monthly pub meet that you would be welcome to come to on the first wednesday of the month at the Half Moon at Pepperstock. We'll rib you a bit but they are a great bunch of people and you would be most welcome.

cheers thanks.

i noticed it looked rutted as i drove past. any ideas when you will next be down there??

i was also thinking of Whaddon as a first timer.

thanks again

Why don't you come out to play one weekend...seriously if you are in beds/herts come on over to the thread, say hello, and join us on an outing. They are regular... in fact the guys (minus me) are out tomorrow in essex and I am sure will be at Whaddon next weekend.

Come on... what do you have to lose?

cheers thanks.

The ruts, if you drive from the millbrook end, extend for about 200 yards. You can ride in the ruts if you are happy about your clearance ( no problem on a disco) or you can straddle the ruts with no problem, keeping right. When you get to the botton end of the lane look at the rut in the mud and decide whether it might be better to drive directly through the posts....

I hope that you've read every page of the Herts thread. You'll read the ragging we gave Ryder for having a Shogun and for getting stuck momentarily(29 hours)

You're welcome to come out with us, but you will get the **** taken(all in the best possible taste though);):D

guys sadly cant make tomorrow but available all next weekend either for whaddon or doing Milbrook

cheers for the welcome

Hi Tom, I think you are referring to Sandy Lane at woburn. A nice little lane, opportunities to make it as easy or as challenging as you want to, without any danger of damaging the lane for other users.

We usually visit there on the way back from shopping at MK, the kids love it!
