I need my stem valve seals replacing on my 200tdi & I’m going to attempt them myself. Might be a daft question but how hard is it for a novice to do whilst following the manual? Many thanks

straight forward are you doing it with head on or off

Head off and replacing the head gasket at the same time

keep valves in order when you remove springs ,pry old seal of with pliers and use a suitable bihex socket to tap new ones on

Cheers mate. The only thing I’m worried about is knocking the valves out for timing etc

you wont be effecting timing unless you remove cam belt , and setting tappets after is straight forward if you follow rule of 9

Your valve spring collets ping off never to be found again, valve stem cap falls off and drops down a drain, put new gasket on upside down etc.
