Hello,

I have recently brought my first Defender she is called Bewtsy. 2013 90" Station Wagon XS in red and I love her! My previous cars were Fiat 500s and TOyota IQ and Aygo so a little bit different! I'm also loving waving at my fellow Defender drivers!

Many people have told me that the Defender is really easy to break in so I have brought a steering wheel lock. This one is a Halfords version of Autolock 2000 however I can't seem to get it to fit on. Does any of you lovely people have and advice please!
Thanks
X

Welcome to the club! Can't help
you with the lock, just thought I'd warn you not to mix up the words "bought" and "brought". It really winds someone up on here ( can't remember who though ). Someone will enlighten us shortly.
In actual fact, keep doing it, feck em !
Good luck with your Landy.

Welcome to the club.
Spelling doesn't wind me up, cos my English ain't that great.
Anyway, this may help. I bought the Stoplock, but before I did, I found out that you need to buy the one for 4x4's and of for airbags as it has a greater height to get over the airbag in the center of the steering wheel.

Hi TonyJ66

Thanks for that.

I'm struggling as the window screen is really close to the steering wheel so I can seem to lock it into place!

I use a stoplock pro. I always turn the steering wheel to full lock (makes the landy more difficult to drag) and then move it back to easiest position to put the steering lock on. The steering lock is usually in about the 10 to position. It won't fit straight up in the 12 o'clock position. As you said, the windscreen gets in the way. I don't have a stock steering wheel though.

I suggest you take it back to the store and ask them. The steering wheel on a Defender is quite large and some steering locks just don't fit. Also a lot of the cheaper ones are not actually very good. There are a few decent steering locks and a few decent pedal covers that are worth looking at.
