I might weel just be being fussy, but the steering on my discovery 2 seems to have a bit of play. Not normally a problem but do notice it more on the ice this past few weeks. Any ideas ?

Suspension bushes, track rod ends, wheel bearings, could be anything and everything, or almost nothing. Ice 'feels' funny anyway if you're not used to it. Just check all joints etc on the steering are tight, UJ's on the steering column are tight and that there's no play in any steering rods or arms and that suspension springs and dampers are on properly. Worn wheel bearings can also give vague steering ..

Check freeplay/backlash on steering box. Check tyre pressures?
