Steering Locks - do you use them?

I use a pedal lock at the shops, sometimes my cheapo steering lock as well. I want a disclok.

I use both at home, turn wheels towards house and a couple of other things. It's behind locked gates as well. I always put the pedal lock on even if I'm 2mins in a shop or at a relatives

For a fiver it's another deterrent .. but why do they advertise it on a Hyundai?

I guess no-one wants to be seen nicking a Hyundai so it's pretty secure there .. ;)

I have a couple of old krooklocks from days of yore that I use. No one has tampered with them in nearly 40 years

I'm using an old Krooklock too. I had it in my old campervan which was broken into once, 'they' smashed the cowling from around the steering column but either gave up or got disturbed. The Krooklock definitely helped in that case.

I think I'll order one of those £5 clamps too, can only help.

got the five pound steering lock today, seems decent for a fiver

Unless it covers the whole thing, they are useless.
The steering wheel can be cut through.
The same with pedal locks.
Around here the scum just use a low loader and pick the whole vehicle up :(
I bought "The Club" which is a big red bar, but I had to get the large size for trucks. Even this doesn't fit the big Series steering wheel perfectly, and can be maneuvered off. For me (in USA) it's just a deterrent for overnight parking. You guys have some serious security concerns, though, and you need cleverer measures. Problem in UK is that people know how to drive standard transmission. Over here, I just need to pop out the red lever into neutral. Car is safe.
Although you don't have guns, I was wondering what the law is regarding killing or maiming an intruder to your home or garage? Here we are allowed to shoot to kill. That is sort of a deterrent in itself.
Can you use an electrical fence there? Also, why not use "the boot?" That's the thing that they clamp onto your tire when parking illegally.
You can't prevent towing, I get that, so an alarm system seems to be the only answer.

Yes we do have guns, but unlike the US legal ownership of section one firearms is tightly controlled by the Home Office & the police force of the county where you reside. Even when a certificate is granted (after lots of forms, character references & medical checks) the holder still has to provide a 'valid reason' for owning such guns & self / home defence isn't even on the agenda o_O

Had a mate used to have an old Parking Offence (whatever the wording is) envelope and used to stick it to his windscreen when he also put a clamp on for theft prevention!!
