I was looking for a steering guard.
Is it true that some guards will not fit D1 with air con?
That's what some of the manufacturers were saying.

Any recommendations?

Can't see why. The steering guard mounts to the chassis??

There are issues when looking at winch bumpers with air con and autos due to the space (or lack of) behind the grill but never heard of it with steering guard
