I have some free play in the steering, it is definitely coming from the steering box. I can undo the nut but the central allen key thing comes with it.. I have tried everything.

Is there a magic trick to separate the 2... getting in there is a pig with my man hands.

I assume if I undid it all the way it would bugger something up ?

Yeahh feels seized, I cant get a spanner fully on only a socket or spanner from above like pliers.. so Its tricky to try and work it fully free..

how come you cant get a spanner on? shouldnt be an issue

picture!

i cant see why you couldnt get a spanner on it though, i adjusted mine last night and spanner went on easy.

The allen screw was initially very tight (it seemed it had never been adjusted) but then freed off.

or if you get them both off together. stick it in a vice and work on it with the allen key

I assumed it they both came off fully it would bugger it.. surely the Allen key goes into something...which is sensitive and shouldn't be left without it or it would lose a setting ?

sorry assumed when you said they both turned that you took it fully out.

err, tbh i'm not sure! i think it just pushes the shaft down to reduce the gap

if you haven't done it yet, then i'd try and crack em without removal.

like vil, plenty of room here.. not sure why your setup is different
