on the 4 bolt steering box can you replace just the splined shaft that the drop arm connects too as mine has had parts of the splines ground off at some point. just replaced drop arm and not sure if it will hold up for long. any ideas

Ah 'think' most of these bits may have to be removed to get the shaft out...

Then ye need to know how to set it all back up properly again!;)
 
great pics and info. what sort or time scale for me to do . I know me way around a tool box but have never done this before , what should i make sure ive got to hand before i start as it will be a sunday when car part shops will be shut
