Evening all,

I'm after a piece of steel Pipe/Tube, 75mm OD and 42mm long. Wall thickness needs to be 3mm+.

I can only find it in 2400mm lengths - £43.91 posted!!!!! At that price I only need 77p worth.

Does anybody have anything suitable lying about?

Ally drainpipe socket will be about that size.

Thanks. It needs to be steel as I want to weld it.

how accurate does it need to be ?

I can turn down a bit of mild if need be

If you could help I will be extremely gratefull and I'll happily pay for your time, the material and postage. It needs to be +/- 1mm (ish). If you could let me know if this is okay - I'll check and recheck the sizes.

I'm planning on building a lock for my sankey trailer. I'm going to use an 8mm top and bottom plate with the 75mm ring welded onto the base to stop it sliding - then weld a fat bar onto the top, drill a hole in the bottom plate, assemble them and pass a big padlock through the fat bar.

I've just trawled the internet and found this as a similar idea.

Here are the top/bottom plates.

Did you get sorted on this?

I've got some 3" od tube in the garage with 3mm wall. Might be ever so slightly too big diameter for you and slightly too small wall, but i can lop the end off tomorrow for you if you like?
