Braces are at the sides of the receiver hitch mount which brace to the side of the chassis legs. Then the top plate it bolted to the cross member.
I have the 110 version of the exact same thing on mine and it works very well. Have easily pulled stuff as heavy as the 3.5t capacity too without any problems at all.
Its fine over here at the moment but using a drop plate with a receiver hitch isn't type approved in the UK or Europe so just be careful with it in case you meet a prick at a police checkpoint or anything.
Being able to pull the pin and having nothing at all to catch the ground is brilliant when off-roading though
I have the receiver recovery shackle too for mine.

Fair enough. From the picture it just looks like any weight being pulled would rip the hitch up and off.

It had a really high slate solids content, I can only compare it to laying a concrete floor, 3 feet deep
