I have a complete (all be it very poor condition and non runner) 1988 station wagon and I have a fully rebuilt every day driver 1989 110 hardtop.
I am looking to swap the rear body of the station wagon over onto the hardtop. The hardtop is currently a daily driver so I am looking to do this in one go as quickly as possible so I am currently gathering the parts I will require in advance.

For the station wagon body itself:

I have the tub and floor panels, seats, seatbelts from the station wagon
I have the toe panel behind the front seatbox both from the station wagon and from a chap on FB who was giving it away
I have new galvanised sill/B/C pillars from YRM that I plan to fit to the station wagon before the body swap
I have new galvanised tub cappings from YRM that I plan to fit to the station wagon before the body swap
I plan on inspecting the rear tub floor and replacing or renovating the tub support members while the tub is off for the swap, YRM do galv ones if required

Is there anything for the bodywork/tub that I have missed on the list above?

I then know that the chassis mounting for a hardtop and a station wagon is different. I am currently putting together the shopping list for all of the body to chassis mounts that I will require because they will not be present on my hardtop and will have rusted away (like everything else steel) on the station wagon. Currently on my shopping list is:

1x Mid station wagon crossmember NRC4171 (YRMlink)
1x Mid Mid station wagon crossmember to sill bracket MRC6360 & MRC6359 (YRMlink)
4x Rear outrigger body mounting NRC5665 (YRMlink)

If required:
1x Front full width lateral tub support MUC8950 (YRMlink)
1x lateral tub support with seatbelt mounting MUC8949 (YRMlink)
3x lateral tub support MUC8949 (YRMlink)

Is there anything for the chassis to body mounting that I have missed on the list above?

Is there anything else I have missed or overlooked as part of this conversion, this is my first experience with anything station wagon!

from memory on mine

not sure by cappings if you also mean the taillight cappings for the tub.
also you have the 4x mounts that rivet onto the tub to aide fitting csw tub to chassis -

foam seal for the tub to side cappings
rubber seals for the roof to side panels
you can get the seatbelt mount brackets for the rear tub if you repace floor/struts - SS no the best idea but gives idea

new galv seatbelt anchors for rear tub - maybe?
you

front seatbelt to chassis mounts cant find the galv ones yrm do:

not sure if your putting in all 12 seats so may need more brackets for rear seats/benches

you also have the tub to sill brackets (2x L shape brackets)that go between the c pillar and rear tub but you may have them off donor

you also get sound rubber pads that rivet to the bottom of the tub if your redoing it.

rear door thresh/seal?

genuine land rover door seals for 2nd row

may want new nut plates for the door latch https://yrmit.co.uk/product/nut-plate-side-door-latch-striker-lr-defender/

may want these i put on mine . https://yrmit.co.uk/product/pair-s-s-2nd-row-door-extension-kit-lr-defender-4-or-5-door/

oh and a electric/air rivet gun! - i got a milwakee one - i wouldnt do all these needed by hand.

lots of gasket material or yrm do a set.

gwen lewis do the mud flap kits that protect the back of the seatbelt brackets and outrigger - maybe an option.

I only mean the top capping as this is all that has rusted away. The rear light capping's are currently in good conditions and will get a new coat of paint as part of the build.

Are these for the bolts that go through the tabs on the rear crossmember? On my hardtop these are just bolts and washers is this different on a station wagon? I will have a look what is fitted to the station wagon.

I have seent hese but I am not 100% sure how these work and could do with some more information. I know the floor strut has a plate for the seatbelt mount but am not sure how it all fits together.

I don't even know where these are on the tub, so will have to look into these, but this is exactly the sort of information I am after, many thanks.

Again, not entirely sure where these mount to look at the vehicle and assess the condition. The seatbelt as far as I am aware looking form the inside is mounted to the toe plate behind the seat box. do these then mount through that to the chassis to give it some proper structure and security?

I am not planning on fitted the full 12 seats at this point as I do not need them, I know that causes problems with mot/driving licenses but am planning on only fitting two rows or three forward facing giving me 5 useable and 6 at a push for someone small who enjoys and elbow to the stomach when changing gear.
Are the tub to sill brackets not MRC6360 & MRC6359 I mentioned above?
What are the rubber pads you are referring to, which part of the tub dop they rivet to?
Front and rear door seals I know will need doing but I am not to worried about at this point as can be done at a later date when the vehicle is back on the road. I have done them all on the hardtop already so know what is involved and how to do those.
I bought a Milwaukee rivet gun specifically for this rebuild, do not worry I had worked out I did not want to be doing it by hand!
I use neoprene tape as my gasket material and again have lots of that as used it when rebuilding the hardtop
I have seen the gwyn lewis mudflaps, and on the hardtop made my own from some conveyor belting so will have a look at the station wagon ones and see if I can do the same again.

Ah fair enough - not sure what paint your using but the raptor epoxy primer is good but mine is all raptor.

you can just bolt through with normal nut/washer just its a PITA these help with fitting

On the floor of the CSW tub you will have where the rear seatbelts bolt through the floor to the nut plate on the underside that normally goes through the cross member on the tub floor if you replace/refit tub floor you will need the new nut plates to spread the load. YRM's solution works but its Stainless so shockloading could be an issue. - think you have these highlighted on yor other thread asking what they were with a picture of the seat and them highlighted. your exsisting will just be a nut welded to a square bit. the YRM ones use rivets that the orginal ones do not
I don't even know where these are on the tub, so will have to look into these, but this is exactly the sort of information I am after, many thanks.
on the rear tub you have the slop part at the front where the seats clip iinto on the backside you have the seatbelt mounting bracket - maybe ok on donor but work considering/replacing as they can rust out as a mud trap - i would pair with the front rear tub mud flap kid gwenn lewis does to protect it.
Again, not entirely sure where these mount to look at the vehicle and assess the condition. The seatbelt as far as I am aware looking form the inside is mounted to the toe plate behind the seat box. do these then mount through that to the chassis to give it some proper structure and security?
Yes these brackets are riveted to the toe plate and then bolt through to 2 mounitng points on the chassis. you will have 6 places on the toe rail 4 go to the brackets you have identified and the other 2 go through to the chassis.

The main issue with the very rear seats is you have so many places for glav rusting.

these bolt the sill rail to the mid crossmember - the ones i mention connect the c pillar at the top part of the 45 degree slope, to the structure of the tub they are like two L brackets which allow for movement/lining up and are opposet where the striker latch goes - will try and grab a photo of mine later.
What are the rubber pads you are referring to, which part of the tub dop they rivet to?
along the bottom of the tub where you have the crossmembers of the floor there are mounts on the chassis where they sit on its att each of these touch points where the rubber pads go as an anti rattel

Many thanks for your replay, Your notes and some more studying of the parts manual has added seat belt mountings to the shopping list.

I am still not 100% what these brackets are and where I should be looking for them. I also do not know if they are included in the YRM sill fitting kit I got with the galv replacements. I cannot immediately find them on the YRM website but I am unsure exactly what I am looking for.

here is the photo of mine they sit between the c pillar on left side ( you can see the hole you will have for the nut plate of the striker) and the Tub Right side.
There is a plate behind both the c pillar and side of the tub as well. Not sure on part numbers.

Having just removed the c pillar I do not think I had those. I certainly didn't remove them so unless they are still attached to either the tub or the pillar. I will check. What age is yours? mine is an '88.

I do not think i have these. Are these photo of the correct area?

Also what are the extra little brackets for on the front and the back of the capping? I do not have them on my hardtop and they are not on the replacement form yet. But they were on both sides of the ones I have just removed and are just riveted on. I have salvaged them. But don’t want to go to the effort of de-rusting and painting if they are not actually needed as they didn’t seem to attach to anything other than the capping itself. Also don’t want to unnecessarily drill holes in the new galv capping

Are they they the strengthening/mounting brackets for the rear side facing seatbelt bar? Found this picture when doing some research which is what made me ask? If they are that would explain why I do not have any fitted.
