i have a ranger rover 4.0 he with lpg conversion
the other night on the way home the car cut out, i tried to get going again and after about 10 mins i got the car started. i had to travel the 5 miles home about 10 miles per hour,
today i tried to sort the car out, i found the car starts ok but if you touch the throttle pedal it cuts out straight away (in lgp or petrol mode)
i have been told this could be either a blocked cat ( i dont think so as have had this before on other cars ) or a air intake switch, has anybody out there had simalur problems as i am inclined to try a throttle pedal switch.:eek::mad:

i havent had the fault codes read yet ,because i would have to pay £150.00 recovery charge to the gargae and one hours labour so i will try a air flow meter and if that dont work i will then book it in at the garage,
cheers for the advise
if there is any thing i can help with please do email me :D

what connections should i check (the ones on the air meter or the ones on the o2 sensors)
as this problem just happened one night not over a period of time corrosion seems to be out of the question
but thanks for the sugestion all helps :D

at long last i have solved by problem. after changing the potentiometer checking all pipes removing cats to check if blocked and cleaning all the air take system i finally purchased a mass air flow meter, plugged the thing in and had the same problem
i refused to let the bastard beat me and sat there trying to start the car for about 10 mins
after nearly giving up and burning the bastard for insurance i fianal got it running
dam i love driving it
