Can anyone out there offer some guidance with a problem we are having at the moment with our 2003 D2 TD5? We are experiencing an intermittent problem with is becoming less intermittent and more regular. Starting up the car from either hot or cold though more commonly cold, when you turn the key, the car turns over for ages before finally and reluctantly firing yet once fired up will run with no problems at all. We did a 3hr drive in it over the weekend, and it started first time as we left home, almost completed the journey (5 mins from destination and it stalled. It then had to be cranked for a good minute (though it felt much longer as the traffic built up behind) before it caught and fired up slowly. We left it in the car park overnight and went to it the following morning to again have the same problem with it struggling to start. When it did we drove all the way home, parked up on the drive and thought ill try and start it and see what happens and it fired straight away. We have replaced the loom in the rocker cover a few months ago thinking this may help but no luck so far. Im up for trying my hand at most things mechanical but at a loss if it comes to electrics.
