£300 for an engine wiring loom, Bonkers!!!anyone know where I can get one cheaper. We're thinking this is why my TD5 is struggling to start, it's got oil in the loom.

Right, that sounds better for me pocket. Have you had a similar problem? How do you clean the loom?

its very common ,spray brake cleaner or similar , once oil stop entering from injector loom cleaning loom at either end will be ample might take a few goes, though what are starting issue symptoms

Just taking too long to start, turns over for what seems to be ages then fires up. Thanks for the advise.

dont buy a cheap injector loom pay the £50 from your local lr dealer .
if poor starting continues it might be a leak somewhere in the fuel system example fuel preasure regulator or airbleed valve on filter head or poorly fitted filter.
the copper injector seals can also cuase poor starting but may result in poor running

Yeah, we've been round the Landy with a fine tooth comb, there's no leaks anywhere everything is tight. Once it's up and running it goes like a train. I'm now hoping that it could be a fix with this injector loom. There is a bit if oil in the engine wiring loom but hoping to clean that out as previously advised. Cheers, I think your right if I buy the more expensive one, for the sake of tenner.

yes fitted a allmakes one for a friend and his injector ballances were worse than the original loom with a little oil in it .
one trick that has been done is to cut and solder the wires on the injector loom then heat shrink this stops the oil migrating threw the twisted core cable at the injector plugs inside the rocker cover .

Thanks, I'm hoping this will sort my problem. I'll talk with my LR chap tomorrow and feed him this info. Cheers.
