Starting (or not)

For the last 3 years my D90 started on the turn of the key - puff of black smoke and she'd be running, ticking over nice and sweet. Never needed to touch the throttle, wait for the heaters or anything. Turn the key and away she went.

Yesterday she didn't start, she caught but stopped. Then she wouldn't start at all (turns over but no bangs)... caught and stopped, then, with a press on the throttle pedal, off she went...

This morning same again, turned over, caught but stopped again ... I have to press the throttle for her to get running.

Any idea what's changed (all of a sudden) ?

crap fuel or slight block?

I use Shell normally with 200ml of 2 stroke per 40L, the filter has a glass bowl/water trap (like this one linky) and looks clean - I think it's about 12 months old maybe ... certainly the glass looks clean.

300 may or may not have sedimentor . sure someone will soon say

Its something to do with fuel I think - once she's running she starts first turn, but if she's left for a while she needs at least two tries and often a full right foot.

Is this a sign that the pumps on the way out ?

I can't see any fuel leaks anywhere.
