SRS Light

Hi my N plate p38 manual diesel has the srs light on solidly
Ive checked and replaced one of the srs bulbs light is still on.
Ive attatched my nanacoom and it says cannot establish communications with ecu.
Ive taken the yellow ecu box out and swapped it for another ,with the same results.
It's the type with yellow sensors/boxes fitted on the front outriggers.
Ive tried all the 3 airbag selections on the nanacom but it still wont establish communications. I've no connections under the seats,see this old foggie has read the other srs light on posts,lol.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Have you read the Nanocom instructions? Is the ignition key in the right place?
Possibly there is corrosion on the back of the OBD connector preventing comminication.

Thanks Datatek. I've tried key in,still the same,ignition on,still the same ,engine running still the same all tried with the doors shut.

Thinking of trying to "chase" the wires from the obd connector to the airbag ecu to see if I get any connectivity,sorry my smelling (spelling) isn't too great.

obd connector has been replaced with one off a vw /audi well that's what it says on the side of it . I have a bundle of yellow wires coming off it all having been spliced into the original rr wiring!!!
would any one have an obd wiring pin connection to what coloured wire its connected?

data;ek just found a post off yurs to another member about the pin locations and colours so going to use that tomorrow,just thought I'd let you know to save you searching as I know your a busy sort after lad on here.

Have to keep smiling or I'd get down about not getting this naughty little RR back on the road,MOTD and then horror of horrors SOLD. The reason being it hasn't got aircon and my dogs love the aircon on my other RR

Just fix the aircon?

solved
checked the obd connector as it ad been changed for a vw one. It checked through though all ok ,so I was stumped again
went back to basics and started cheking fuses,low and behold the srs fuse wass missing!!
Got exccited and turned te ignition on,the srs light was on but flashing. This was different to normal. So I plugged in my nananacom. Seemed to take a longtime to connect so to speak.selected the earliest air bag options and low and below it displayed an error ,something like drivers air bag fault. Tried clearing the fault and low and behold the srs light went out.
Disconnected the nanocom and tried the ignitionon again,srs ligt came on steady this time then whey hey it went out. Tried it several times nowand it stays out so opefully thats one less MOT failure sorted.
Probably someone changed the binnacle pack as i had to re sync it,the srs light came on and stayed on so they removed the fuse then one of te srs bulbs to dim the srs light but forgot that the display would say airbag fault.
So all sorted now,

Oh someone said fix the aircon and keep the motor. Like to as its a manual diesel but unfortunately its one of those with no aircon fitted to it

4-40 aircon fitted as standard.

Aircon was not standard on the DT, no aircon on my 96.

4-40 aircon = all 4 windows down at 40 mph.
