Bump

have you the link

PS: the steering wheel radio tabs don't seem to work , might this be linked to my issues

funny this, I hoovered (yes I know, its new to me as I normally drive the Defender) under the passenger seat yesterday and when I went out the SRS light came on. I did move a yellow wire with a plug. Will check tonight to see what happens if I wiggle it again.

Had the same problem with RSR light on wiggled the yellow cable light now out, thanks for the advise.

I have a similar problem with my Disco 2. I stupidly removed both front seats without disconnecting the battery  I needed to get to the floor to check it for any rust damage following long exposure to AC blocked drain overflow into the front footwells.

I have reinstalled the drivers seat and I get the SRS light. I am wondering if the SRS light is illuminated because the front passenger seat remains uninstalled? I intend to disconnect the battery when I remove and reinstall the seats and carpets (after dealing with the rust problems at the base of the seats). Will leaving the battery disconnected for a number of hours allow the system to reset once it is powered up again? or as stated in this thread, is this a "HARD" warning that needs to be reset at the dealer?

Any advice would be helpful.

Regards

On the P38 it's usually a "Hard fault".. a simple reset which takes 5 mins max...bear this in mind when asking for a price at a dealer/specialist.
If I was doing it, a cup of tea and 1 1/2 Jammie Dodgers would be fine, the rest of the packet would be gobbled up by "J the Range" as he is my UK Minder !!!

Irishrover,

Thanks for the reply. The SRS seems to have righted itself....meaning the light went off. Somewhere in the back of my mind I am wondering if the SRS actually works......Not that I am keen to impact test it.....Nor am I keen to pay the dealer for the luxury of charging me.......

Guess I will wait for the impact.........

Regards

my p38 srs light had been coming on for 3 years before the mot people spotted it. took it to dealer and they wanted big bucks to replace side airbags in the seats. I didnt think it had any. At least they accidently replaced fault with sunroof open one which I can live with
