squealing

hi guy's
got a p38 2.5 diesel thats has developed a load squealing noise, checked fan belt
seems to be when you put your foot down it squeals
me thinks its the water pump
anybody got any ideas

its allright saying " shudve bought mine " but we all arnt made of money -- to buy something you need pounds and my pounds are tied up in the one ive got.

How do you mean you've checked it? Have you replaced it or adjusted it?

IIRC a leak in a turbo hose can cause a squeal as the air leaks out.

start it up. lift the bonnet and stick your head in and have a listen to where its coming from....then if yer still baffled take a pic and post on here with the area you think noise is commin from.

Checked for splits and general wear, checked tension of belt and adjusted

would have thought if it was belt it would squeal on tick over, this squeals then stops and then squeals when it feels like it, put your foot down when squealing and it yells

oooh u bitch , no sense of humour some folk :doh:

take the aircon belt of then go for a spin, mine did the same thing and it turned out to be the tensoiner pulley although the main auxillary belt tensioner does make the same noise when its fooked aswel.

got the v5 today, gonna think what to do with it.... it aint easy deciding what to buy to replace it, it'll end up on ebay if i decide to sell
