Recently noticed squeaky brake pedal - squeaks when pedal is pressed while ignition off and at rest or when driving; squeaks all the time when depressed. It's the pedal and nothing to do with brakes.

Came across info on internet showing two tangs at the top of the brake pedal that press on small contacts.

So, sprayed some lithium grease up there (hit and miss really) - still squeaks. The problem is that I can't really access/see the top of the pedal - deep under and behind the fuse box area underneath the steering column!

Any tips? I'm not a gymnast or related to the rubber-man! Worth removing anything to get better access/vision of trouble-spot?

Yeah, released the fusebox cover below steering column, but didn't really help. Might get a good torch, drop the fusebox cover and have a look again! There is another plastic panel below the fusebox cover and it looks like it is held with two rubber grommets.

As far as I know there is a rubber boot ober that bit of the pedal, so you may have to dig deeper ...

I got a good torch, contorted my body around, and thrust my head right up to the end of the driver's footwell and took this pic. I sprayed some lithium grease on this brake pedal return spring! Does anyone know if this is the source of the squeak? I couldn't see the rubber boot.
