back in the old days it was vinegar before this new stuff came out, talking pre 1970's :) dinosaur days :D

i remember the 70s but wasnt painting galvo back then;)

But that is the best way to paint it and use a good etch primer ive still got the buckhead to paint when i comes back from blasters and galvonising

it;s the acid of cider/apple vinegar that did it and back in them days was zinc chromate (sp) primer.

As a kid in the 60's house had galvined rain gutters and down spouts and some window frames. So some times got a job washing galvanized stuff for the painters , and being 10/11 was a big deal:D pop and chips was 15 cents :)
