I had them on my 3.9 mostly I left the covers off as the lens and bulbs were blue some people used to move over maybe they thought I was the police in those days - car was black?
The main benefit is the extra light. I had them to either come on with headlights or selectable.

I've always liked them with the round headlights but much as I'd appreciate the extra light, I can't bring myself to fit them with the rectangular lights on my P38.

I like the classics with them myself. I'll get Grit valve to shot blast the bumpers before painting and i guess put some mounting holes in for spots as well.

*dogsbody , i have the osram nightbreaker bulbs in my p38 lights up the road nicely .. they are cheaper on flea-bay for a pair than halfauds charge for their own brand of bulb... highly recommend them, we dont have much in the way of street lighting our way and they make a difference. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Osram-Nig...ts_SM&var=&hash=item2ecff17757#ht_1212wt_1161

I had them on my vogue se(but on bull bars) and got rid cos they didn t work. Bit of a throw back, reminds me of watching rallying on "old" top gear. Not for me these days.

When I had my previous Rangie I seem to remember seeing a front grill with cutouts to sink the spots, or possibly secondary headlights?

I thought that looked pretty cool.

As a confirmed 'originality is best' stalwart I've voted against, they are unnecessary in normal driving. Classics already have driving lights (not fog) so how many more lights do you want? Plus I think they look crap & ruin the timeless style of the vehicle. On the other hand, if you are into serious off-roading then more powerful lighting is probably only one of many 'mods' needed, but then you are using the vehicle for purposes other than the maker intended.
