So I keep getting this amber error message every now again on the dash.
Mostly it happens when I start the vehicle up and it will disappear quickly. Sometimes, it will flash up when driving.
It's usually worse whenever I haven't been in the car for a couple of days. I travel a lot with work so there are days at a time when the car is left unused. During these times, this error alert will often popup quite a bit once I start using the vehicle again. But a week later after daily use, it's back to only popping up sporadicly.
Obviously, it shouldn't be popping up at all. So I've contacted a couple of local Indys, and I'm aware of the labour that is involved with sorting this out and have seen the video on youtube of the German couple replacing theirs on their Disco.
Unfortunately, most of my local Indys are fully booked. Some aren't taking any new customers until the summer time again. I'm struggling a lot at the moment to try and get someone to look at the car so I'm just going to have to be at peace with it for a while.
I guess my ask is, should this be something I need to be majorly concerned about? I am able to get an oil reading every now and again when the sensor isn't freaking out - but how reliable is this reading?
