SPEEDO

Afternoon all, just wanting to see if anything looks odd on my dash , had the Clutch , Slave , Master & Fuel pump replaced to my 2004 TD4 with 86,000 on the clock. It’s idling at 1000rpm on stand but when I change gear the Speedo seems a bit slow in catching up especially in 1st gear , maybe it’s me being paranoid after having the work done , your thought plz

Hmmm...not sure if serious?

Think about how gears work - you can't do 60 mph in first and you can't pull away in 5th.

2000 r.p.m in 1st = about 12 mph
2000 r.p.m. in 2nd = about 20 mph
2000 r.p.m. in 3rd = about 30 mph

And so on and so forth.

The higher the gear the more equal the movement on the dial hence "a bit slow in catching up especially in 1st gear".

It's what gears do.

Maybe you mean the tachometer is a bit slow to drop when you change gear?
