I'm writing to inform any who may be interested in the following.
I have just completed replacing my KPH speedo (European Model) with a cluster from the UK. The new (second-hand) dial indicates MPH & KMP, so my trips to the UK - especially to the Isle of Skye on an annual basis, can be used with the appropriate indications.
In other words, the clusters can be replaced without any problems. They work. The mileage memory is held within the cluster and not anywhere else. I have proved it!
And my thanks go to to all who gave me good info that related to the job-in-hand. I am indebted to them. They know who they are.
For those who write what they think without real substantial knowledge, please don't.
This is something I have come across time-and-again. There are some who write what they think is right without any real background knowledge or experience. And it can be quite misleading, as well as confusing - not to mention... expensive.
And then, there are those who do know. The trouble is knowing what to believe and who/what to trust.
Also, when a question is asked about any particular item or subject, any answer concerning a different model/make is superfluous and totally unhelpful. Please learn all you helpful chaps, just answer what is asked and add nothing else. If someone needs to learn about a FL1, don't go off at a tangent with info concerning a Saturn 5 rocket. Because that's what it seems like, sometimes.
Read the presented question and answer appropriately. Just like any exam paper.
Anything else is a failure! 0/10 See me later. lol
