Hi new to site- does anyone know if you can fit speakers to back of 110- think I'll end up deaf if I don't work out a way kids in back can hear music without blasting it at my end. Went to Halfords and they said no- is that right? I'm not at all mechanical - will have to be a garage job if it is possible. HELP !

Yes you can.

I fitted some pod type speakers to my old 110. Do a search on ebay for 'pod speakers' in the vehicle parts and accessories section.;)

summit along the lines of these.

CAR SHELF SPEAKERS [BE033] 3 WAY 30WATT , POD SPEAKERS on eBay (end time 18-Mar-10 17:20:48 GMT)

Just a tip - don't believe anything anyone says to you at Halfords... ever!

As for your speakers, just grab some 6x9s and throw some cabling down the sides of the cabin, easy peasy :)

Hi, i have speakers built into the back of my 90, they are 6x9 speakers. The boxes they are fitted into are fixed to the back corners of the rear then carpeted over with the same carpet throughout the rest of the landy. The boxes should be made out of mdf and could be sprayed black which would look good. Wiring them in is easy, hiding the wires is the hardest part.

i just did this to mine last weeknd. i hear where your coming from with the deafining and kids

Thanks for all the tips and photos

-not wishing to sound too girlie and incompetent but if I was to take this to a car hi-fi sort of place- (definately not Halfords!) would they do it as its not a standard fit?

If they won't- any other bright ideas that don't involve me or my lack of technical know-how ? Please don't say it's easy- when you lot can give birth ,I'll learn to start messing around with cars !

if your anywhere near nottingham in the midlands i have sove of them pod speakers in the workshop you can have for free, as for speaker installs i keep meaning to get some pics of my landy inside, it has suprised alot of fokes lol

Land Rover sell speaker pods that fit into the rear corners (on each side of the rear door) You remove the metal covers and fit the pods instead, then fit speakers into the holes in the pods. The speaker size is the same as the front ones, although I'm sure you could fit larger ones.
On my 2006 90 CSW the wiring was in place behind the covers (the XS has rear speakers) so all I had to do was connect it to the new speakers.

Have a look at a 110 XS at the Land Rover dealer, you will see how to do it from that.

Have been looking for ages but does anyone know of some surface mount speaker adapters? I swear you used to be able to get them to mount speakers to mini door cards but I'm struggling to find them now.
