Sparks all around - will 240V AC do though?

Ok - I can take a subtle hint - it sounds like doing it propa is the way forward. Sounds like someone beat me to the thought of mains cable though - just about everything has been rewired using red solid mains cable. They have very nicely tagged everything, but all the writing has long since vanished.

I'll keep my eye on ebay and see what comes up.
