today i changed the spark plugs for my p38 hse .. the used ones had totally a black head ... one of them had a smell like fuel essence and two on the right side to the engine were filled of black smoke ( dioxyde )..
is that normal ? but i haven't changed them since a year and half ... i hadn't time to do this .. but yesterday my rangie didn't want to cooperate as well ... so what do you think ?

n.b : i replaced the used spark plugs with new parts : champion N 12 , is they're good for p 38 ???????

personally, I reckon Champion plugs are crap. I always used NGK.
I've even had engines which won't run at all on Champion, but run perfectly on NGK - strange.
 
i use NGK's too. did have chams in and i too thought they crap, especialy with lpg! so now i run magnecor leads and NGK's and everything is wonderfull.
i change them (plugs) every 3000 miles

thanks rick .. but what do you mean by (46 d ) is that the same sign for 4.6 ?
second, i changed the plugs , and i put champions , but my p38 still doesn't want to run well , i don't know if the problem is the plugs , but i press the pad of the fuel , but the engine takes too much time to go well , it's like the injections are stuckes or blocked with something ... any way what do you think ?

NGK BPR6E are have the v-groove in the electrode which are supposed to be better for running LPG. They don't last as long as the BPR6ES plugs though.
 
NGK BPR6E or 6ES. Either will do, but I run the 6E's in mine as I think it runs better at idle and pulling at low revs. The 6ES's are more expensive and last a bit longer, but IMO don't run as well.
