The spec is speedos are allowed to over read by a few percent but not read under. So your speedo may show you are driving faster than you are but not slower.
It will be the same diameter as your standard tyres but narrower, hence their name.
I think car buyers should make it clear to manufacturers that we don't want a can of tyre mouse or a bloody space saver on cars with 'normal' sized wheels. I can understand in a car with massively wide tyres, or different sizes front to back. but on your average family runaround, it's ONLY another way for the manufacturer to screw their customer and save some coin!
I've read many tales of car owners buying a full size spare from fleabay and fitting it in place of the space saver then selling the space saver!

The bigger the tyre the more it will under read..
I was clocked doing 35 in a 30. I thought it was a 40 and merrily chatting away to my mate coming back from a 4x4 autojumble at Malvern one sunday. Had i actually seen the permanent bright bloody yellow camera, i still wouldn't have slowed because i thought i was actually driving under the limit.
Still, i know how to work out whether a road is 30 mph now.
Just got to make sure i remember for the next three years...

You could always sell it and buy an old Citroen Dyane. I had one of those for about two years. Craziest car i've ever owned! It has a square tube bar that is bolted above the engine with a couple of bent bits of bar which holds a spare wheel against the bulkhead. There's also space under a plate in the boot for a spare so it can carry two spares. A bit OTT as all four wheels are not only the same size, but at 125 wide, are probably the same width as your standard space saver.
The front seats could be removed by just sliding them off the runners and then taken and plonked on the ground if you had a picnic. You could roll the roof back and remove the rear hatch door by removing four M5 nuts. I replaced mine with wing nuts. You could then fold the back seats flat and forwards upo against the back of the front seats and in that configuration i went to collect a 6x6 fence panel for my then gaffer. I had a couple of foot sticking out the back but it was all strapped in. I pulled up at a roundabout alongside three guys in a Volve estate who then rolled down the window and applauded me with the driver leaning over his passenger shouting "well done mate! I can't even do that in this!"
The only downside was that without the back door tieing in the two sides when you corner hard, the opposite front door would open because the lock plate and door would part company. It would do this in both directions. I think that Citroen knew thais and that's the reason why they used thick rubber door straps which would stretch and then snap back slamming the door shut!
They give Land Rovers a run for their money on which car is the most 'Meccano!'

I read that Sir Stirling Moss owned for several years a Brabus Smart car and he fitted rear wheels on the front to cure the inherent understeer.
Brabus have wider than standard and rears wont fit under arches at front I wanted a Brabus but they only had convertable available at the time...wish I could do that here but tyre size is on log book and that is all you can fit...
