I don't think that would pass any comp safari regs, there aren't any diagonals in the main hoop. it is way off ALRC regs for which you need to get log booked. Also the rear braces in the MSA regs need to go to the corners of the main hoop.
You would be better to look for a running donor vehicle and make or buy a competition cage, it will be worth much more when done.

Really cant go wrong with a good condition landy then add a cage say from whitbread or whoever.

that way its guranteed to pass regs. Building a car yourself isnt an easy nor cheap option. buying a logbooked second hand known vehcicle is probably the cheapest and easiest way to get into it.
 
Too right, when you have a rolling chassis with a cage welded on the work is just starting.

Although that S3 Richard's chassis in the For Sale section currently is looking an attractive option for my current Series...

For some reason i'm after some project despite having zero time at present :confused:
