Lads, I really messed up this time and I’m hoping someone on here can help.

I’ve got the 130 stuck on a lane in the Ardennes, near the town of Thilay.

If it goes back anymore it will roll, I need someone with a winch to pull me out. Really hoping someone’s here knows someone!

Oops. Not near Todmorden then.

Sure one of the deserters will be along soon. If they sober up.

Hope you get help.

I would suggest crossing the palm of a local farmer with tractor may be your best and quickest solution.

Hope you get out safe.

Cheers

I phoned a guy I know but he said you're too far away as he lives in Brussels now

If you can't find a local farmer then try here http://xrover.be/Xforum/viewforum.php?f=107 it's a Belgian Land Rover forum that I used to use a lot when I was over there, the link takes you to the main "general topics" page, everyone is mostly in there for the banter, you'll have to register but that's free and they are happy to use English unlike a couple of other foreign forums I was on.

Still stuck.. just waiting at the side of the road now for a 4x4 to maybe drive past.

No farms around here, but I will try the forum.

If anyone wants to drive to France I’m more than happy to cover all costs and provide many beers.

Sounds horrendous. I should imagine that its at times like this that the ground anchor and winch come into their own for that extra pull up a slope.

How is it stuck? Is there a lack of traction or are the diffs on the ground-doesnt look like the chassis rails are snagged from the photo.

Worth a try - call 112 and ask for the pompiers (fire and rescue who all have 4x4 access) and/or gendarmes.
Begun with politeness: " pouvez-vous m'aidez s'il vous plait? Je ne parle pas Francais tres bien........and ask in English

+33 3 57 48 03 89 This is the number for a breakdown garage 1 hour and twenty minutes from you at Avesnelles. They may well have knowledge of help in the area you are in. Do call the pompiers well before nightfall. They will treat it as an exercise.

Have you found a soulition yet? It a 3 hour drive for me and only have access to a Freelander, hi lift, strops and a couple of furfor winches as the defender is off the road and I could not drive until the morning as I have been sampling the local brewery all afternoon, hopefully you find something local if not I am willing to help

Thanks for the replies chaps - there’s a bloke coming out in a land cruiser with a winch, should be here in about half an hour.

I’ll let you know how it goes!
