I need to immobilise my Defender TD5 due to a current serious theft risk at my property.
Can somebody PM me with something l can do to it, is there an electrical part l can remove?
Please PM and not post publicly

Thanks.

Sit out with a 12 gauge. And get a large pit bull esque dog to live in it.

I wouldn’t bother trying to immobilise it I would be getting some hefty chain and wrapping that around chassis and axle and onto something nice and secure.

Depending on if you are still using it or have a second car you could always remove props, that can’t be easily bypassed like some electrical alterations.

First fit CCTV to your house, pointing directly at your Landy, with a huge CCTV warning sign.

Rat, crook lock, removable steering wheel, pedal block, car alarm, immobiliser, tracker, a big chain, battery cut off with removable key, fuel cut off, remove all fuses, remove battery, detach the electrical connection to the starter. The list goes on, anything can immobilise the truck, but make sure it's simple enough for you to plug back in when you want to drive it.

Take the battery out or remove the earth strap. Both take time to put back, time is a thief's worst enemy.
I've seen people not bat an eyelid when when a security light comes on, not sure I'd bother with that

Security lights can't get a lovely picture of the crook. Like the idiot who tried to steal my wifes car. Got a lovely picture of him which the police used to get him.

I'm not saying that they are the best, but a Disclock that encloses the full steering wheel is a highly visible deterent and may be enough to persuade potential thieves to move to someone elses Land Rover.

+1 for this. A good visible deterrent, a hidden switch that will disable one of the vital vehicle system and a tracker and a good insurance policy should the unthinkable happen.
