Freelander 1 (SOLVED) Freelander 1 automatic gearbox oil type (td4, m47, diesel 2006)

Hello not too long ago i changed my automatic transmission fluid (FL 1, TD4 2.0 diesel 2006) with a cheap fluid called ATF Dexron III, my question is if this works for FL1 because i read somewhere that wrong transmission oil can damage gears…

I filled around 4L, and the old oil wasnt too bad when i drained it.



For reference ir cost around 28-29$/€ or less (norway)

It is what I use. No problems and exceeds the original spec for the fluid.

Smith & Allan are good oils.

I also use ATF D III - no problems.
Тhe technologist of our plant (we actually produce oils) looked at the characteristics of the original oil and said that our ATF III is superior to the original.
