I'm wanting to change my 90 for a Disco at some point and I'm tempted to try 7.50 x 16 MT's on plain LR steels but with spacers..
Whats up with the 90?

I don't do any off-roading now just laning so I might as well have comfy seats a decent heater and a better road car so I can venture further afield for lanes.. I'm finding the 'lets off road' image embarrassing tbh too.. want to tone it down a bit..Whats up with the 90?
I've got one..so your going soft then. next you'll be wanting a freebie

No that's going soon I want a Navara/Rodeo/Ranger for a daily.. the trouble with the 90 is that it's got a really minty bulkhead on it and a good chassis, engine, trans & axles but looks like a scrapper so nobody nicks it.. a part of me says I'd be daft to get rid cos I only paid 2.5k for it..Thats fair enough, so you dont fancy modding your freelander then?

It's a real Trig's broom I tell ya.. started life as a Ninety truck cab, got rolled and repaired with Defender station wagon panels (inc red TD5 roof!), gained Discovery axles, trans & engine, then all the off road stuff, then I bought it and converted it back to a truck cab.. wants the wings taking off and hammering straight really but until I buy a house I've nowhere to do it.. it will get some new indicators and a rear recovery point this week though, I spoil that thing!I think you would regret selling it seeing as they are only going to go up in value and it was a bargain at that price.
(even though i wouldnt mind buying it)

Good because I know a couple of good lanes where the FL can't go.. that's the thing with all the lanes around here because they're soft they rut badly with the tractors.. so you need the clearance.. tall narrow aggressive tyres work best. Its certainly had an interesting life, i think i will find myself looking out for one in the near future.
Nothing wrong with a freebie, especially when it shows up a disco lol
Won't they go on your D1..?:multiply::behindsofa: don't think i'll live that one down. at least it was a fender that pulled me out
blackstrat I would keep the 90 as ATKO says they are only going up in value.
by tall thin tyres do you mean something like 7.50x16? I've got a set of them
I'm not sure, it's grassy but the ruts are deep and unavoidable, I was worried in a couple of places.. need to get my winch working and make a decent ground anchor really..Will a lifted freelander go down there?

I will try with the freelander lifted and if it fails i will go out and buy a 90.
