My front passenger footwell carpet is saturated. Prob a silly girly question but is there a “typical” place that water is known to come in from/thru causing this?

Hi,you may have a heater matrix leak,does heater work well? Easiest way to check is if you're loosing water from header tank.You can also get leaks around the windscreen seal and they're not so easy to find but are fixable if you can pinpoint them.Its always a pain finding any sort of so brace brace yourself for a patient search lol

Heater is all fine. Will check header tank just in case. Leaks are infuriating as origins so tricky to find.

I assume we are talking about a 2017 Range Rover? Or is it that pre-production 1948 series one?

Either way, it will be the bonnet release catch.
 
In a way it's good if it's not the matrix cos I think it's a bit of a job to change,you can get some things that are like a smoke bomb ,don't know what they're called, and you let it off in the cab and close it up and you can see where it comes out so you know where to start looking

Sorry forgot the biggest culprit of all,the sunroof,the drain channels block up with dirt and leaves eventually and then the water has to go somewhere and obviously goes downward.Can be fixed like everything,bit of a job but there are posts on here to tell you how it's done
 
Another source of water in the footwell on either side is blocked drains from the air con unit which pass either side of the central console and exit through the transmission tunnel.
If you read my post of 7th JULY 2017 in the discovery forum where are the aircon drains at the end of the posts I described in detail how I sorted the problem from within the car.

You remembered well :)

There is a joining of panel welds that is roughly behind the interior fusebox on the Disco 2. Mine was leaking water into the cabin, so I took off the windscreen trims and the wiper motor covering to get at it.

There were some pictures to go with it, a search in the Discovery section may turn them up.
