and through a river,i always had a opinion of freelanders that they where a bit **** offroad,i was wrong,it did everything mine did wife was loving off road driving,both our landys parked in the same spot,pics are about a year apart,only difference is mine drove down the embankment,i think her fl would have got stuck,her hdc does not work,how many of you use this?

You go girl !!, never did use h d c , prefer to get down the slope a bit quicker.

I tend not to use hdc. I prefer to go slowly using the brakes slightly, down hill if I need to control speed. It's not advised to do this in oft road training or the guide but if yer realistic about yer driving then you know if it's within yer limits or not.

Nice to see her taking it oft road.

it never surprises me when tratters say they are amazed at what the freelander can do you should not be surprised because it is a LANDROVER. go girl go. I have only tried the hill decent but never used it properly.

Would have got stuck ? What, on that little embankment in the pics ? It's not even worth the effort of pressing the HDC and certainly not any sort of challenge for the Freelander.
Tell you what, take the Freelander out yourself one day. You really will be surprised with it. You don't need to give it as much welly as the 110 either , but it should still go where you want it to go. Except deep ruts. It'll need a lift kit for that.

Why doesn't the HDC work, is it the wiring to the switch or something deeper?

Not been off road with mine yet but I've "played" with the HDC on some stupidly steep hills near home. It's odd crawling down hill with no feet on the pedals.

meant the rut to the right,pics not good,you cant drive to the left of it,you cant get the swing,signs in the way

not sure TBH i think a green freelander symbol flashes up randomly along with a tc symbol,its either green or yellow will have to ask the mrs,its not showing any stored faults according to our mechanic but she said when you press in the yellow switch in first or reverse nothing lights up on the dash

Freelander would be fine on that little section. It will happily drive along with one wheel in the air, even if the belly pan hits the floor. It's amazing how good the Freelander is off road.

We know how great our Freelanders are. Don't want everyone to know the secret......
We can go most anywhere and in comfort!
Had my lift kit fitted so little to stop the old girl now.

looks like fun, glad she likes the hippo and suprising in how people like them after a drive

give me a shout at the lz event , will have the hawkeye with me and will plug it in for u to see if any further codes etc comes up
