I am retired and my grandson convinced me to buy a 1969 LWB Series 2A on ebay.
The idea is to restore it!! But I am not a mechanic although I built a kit car a few years ago.

I am going to need a lot of advice and guidance so hopefully I am in the right place!
I have the Haynes Repair manual and the Restoration manual but I need much more.

I live in Earley near Reading.

Have you got any pictures? Sounds like an amazing project for the two of if you and you’ve definitely come to the right place for knowledge, there are some very clever people on here... me not being one of them!!

Hi and welcome.
Great choice of vehicle and great for bonding with grandson.
What sort of state is it?
Everybody loves some photos ;)

Why not this one? :p

Good choice ;) and having gone down a similar route with my 12 years old daughter with a TD5 90 you'll have a great time with your grandson.

If you get stuck on anything there's a great guy near me that does restorations, so feel free to PM me if you do get stuck and I'll pass on his details.

Enjoy!!

Hi and welcome!

Looks like a great project to get stuck into with your grandson. Let us know how you get on.

So I've stripped the rover of roof, wings and discovered that the bulkhead is solid except for top 9 inches which needs replacement as do the door pillars on both sides. Chassis needs fron outrigger replaced, otherwise in good condition. All bodywork is excellent , just needs a rub down and respray.
I am considering buying a new bulkhead. Any suggestions?
