the Ebay one are ok, but do need a bit extra work to get them to line up correctly.
I have one fitted to mine and i am pleased with it so far but not had to use it in anger as of yet. I used plenty of tiger seal on all of the joints to make sure they are sealed properly.

I've got loads of Sikaflex, used a lot on the TVR.

Front door seals are not bad, but the back door seal isn't attached in some places (rusted away), so probably not water tight. I don't indent to deliberately drive into a Lake, but driving through the few minor floods I did, I couldn't help thinking how embarrassing it would be if I steamed in, sucked water into the engine and got stuck.

Looking back at the video from my dash cam, I noticed water was splashing over the roof, so I guess even with a snorkel you can't just plough straight in.

You shouldn't just plow straight in.

I good test of the air tightness of a snorkel is to take that top off and occlude the pipe - the car should quickly stall if it doesn't the system is t air tight, and therefore not water tight

Oh and I used rtv sealant on mine and self amalgamating tape round the air filter housing join then I can get it all apart if I need

Over the roof? You should watch some you tube tutorials on wading, you can get away with a lot without a snorkel and a good technique. You can also get in trouble with a little bit of water and the wrong technique.
