Well thank god she is allive again and running better than before! all put back together with new gaskets (with a bit of silicone) cleaned copper slipped bolts. We managed to get the fan/alternator belts tighter too so happy days! We left it ticking over on the drive for a bit and took it for a spin and it runs sweet as a nut!
Its a nice feeling having done such a top job and I'm really relieved it went so well! I can't believe I was stupid enough to have been taken for a mug. On my receipt it says 200 TDI engine conversion - no mention of the head gasket or timing belt (he obviously knew how to cover his arse!) As this was a verbal job and obviously a complete lie!
The last PIC shows the state of the leak on the drive (I power wash it every few days) as you can see its black engine oil from the rear main seal the other stuff is from filling the coolant (another problem to put right)
So be careful people next time you get your belt done ask for some kind of milage guarantee and make sure the jobs on your receipt!
Without my bro (d90matt) I wouldn't have been able to do this, cheers Matty your a star and umberlievable at fixing anything and everything cheers bro!!!
