Hi all having an issue with a smoky startup, gone through and read loads of threads and followed loads of advice but now not sure where to go next.
Basically on start up it pretty smoky (white) I'd say unburnt diesel rather than coolant.
It was constantly smokey but I've cleaned the egr, cleaned the intercooler and pipes, cleaned the inlet manifold. Oil change along with filters and the crankcase filter. This improved it once it had warmed, so I blanked the egr.
Even after a run it's not smoky but does have a burning oil/diesel smell.
I'm leaning towards faulty glow.plugs. I tried to test them tonight but could only get the caps off two, one was reading 10k ohm and the other was open circuit.
I'll add it has no issue starting, fires right up.
Would faulty glow.plugs cause it to smoky in this weather as it's still mild??
