Hi guys.
I'm trying to solve this problem for a while. I have got this Landy about six months ago and I'm having some work done on it. As I live in cyprus I'm not as lucky as u guys are.
First when I got it used to smoke always. When I came to uk this summer I got new injectors and had them put on. It used to look good but still in the mornings smoke quite bad for about 10 minutes. The color is white and a little black. By the way the engine noise is not even when it first starts and with each uneven noise there is load of white smoke. When driveing there is not much smoke. But last week I was coming down a slope and I was not useing acce pedal, I figured that my landy was sending smoke msg's to it's ancestors at the wild west!!!.

A short history of the car: 2.25 d, 1984 model, new injectors from brookwells, the oil filter hose my have some holes on it, the engine oil changed 1 month ago and it looks like there is some missing (there are no leaks) but not much.

I would be happy if some expert could give me some advice...

Does the white smoke smell of paraffin?

If so, check your pump timing, as it sounds as though it could do with advancing slightly!

With the age, it would be normal to expect to burn a bit of oil.

Hope this helps.

By the way I have noticed that there is a little amount of oil coming from the rocker cap.
Those this make any sense...

OK. What does the white smoke smell like?

The oil leaking from the rocker cover could simply be that the gasket isn't sealing properly. Where is it leaking from??

Let's take it slowly from there.

Sorry I had some problems, it took some time to answer, The somek smells like unburnt fuel (diesel) and the oil comes under the cap of the rocker but it is not much.

Could be that the 'O' ring could do with replacing, or a new oil filler cap is needed.
When your injectors were changed did you still have diesel-smelling white smoke?

If so, try advancing your pump timing slightly.

I did have fuel smelling smoke realy bad before the injectors were changed, now the smell and the smoke is less but not gone. By the way the smoke is bad for about 1 minute when I start the engine for the first time in the day, afterwards there is not much smoke just when climbing.
Thank u for the interest...

Try advancing your pump timing slightly.

Slacken off all your injector pipes first though, and give it a couple of degrees, and see if that improves things.

The mech says it's from the wearing of timming gears. I will try to find the gears and get it done as soon as possibble. And hopefully let u guys know how it's going
