first of all i just want to say hello to all as i am new to the site, ...i have just bought a freelander td4 05...but i am starting to think i have made a mistake, had it a month and had tc/ abs light fault and window reg gone..both faults fixed now.. but now have new problem...the engine was very sluggish and i felt as if it was going to stall at lights etc....thought it was me at first but after a month i thought this can not be right...i read some of the threads here and went for a new maf...i ran it for a day unplugged and the car ran better so i thought it was worth a try with a new maf...any way when fitted the car was totally different...it is so sluggish and under powered until it hit around 2000 rpm and then the turbo cuts in then the power is fine...i have been told that the ecu will have to re learn its setting because i unplugged the old maf (is that right? and how long does that take?) also my other problems is i feel the car is hopeless until 2000 rpm ...is it normal for a td4 to be really sluggish until the turbo comes in....i have to wait for half mile gap in traffic before i feel safe to pull out...this is my first 4x4 but surely this can not be right...if anyone could help me out i would be really grateful....thanks...
ps the filter that i have now checked yet is the crank breather filter....could this make the car sluggish at low revs?
