Thanks for all the replys, its my first discovery.. before i had a 3.9 v8 range rover and a p38 2.5 bmw diesel.. nowt but probs with the p38 so thats why i got the disco.. Im gonna take it in to the garage for a check up I think.. I mainly need it to tow my caravan to need it to be in good running order

If it's got an EGR valve on the exhaust manifold, remove it and blank it off - cost £20 for the full kit and takes 1 hr tops to do.

If it has a cat in the exhaust downpipe remove and replace with part no. ESR 2297, Paddocks do them for £21.25+vat.

Both of these mods will improve the performance of your vehicle, but not to the stds of a V8 I'm afraid.

The autos are slow off the mark, even with mine ,egr blank ,decat clean filters ....etc.Until the turbo kicks in at about 1800 revs then it pulls pretty quick. You get used to it but it can be a bit scary pulling out into fast moving traffic  Mine you it will hurt them more than you if they hit you,so they have to slow down :D

Besides all the other posts wanting you to spend a fortune on enhancing performance, have you got a sticking brake?

What i mean first thing in morning it sticks till worked off then can work ok so will be slow on the uptake.

You might be mistaking the need for a new filter and fresh oil in the auto box for a sticking hand brake...and all the other posts didn't suggest spending a fortune....
