That price doesn’t look too bad. Although it was 3 years ago. Also it says STT not STT Pro. The Pro replaces the STT. Which have you actually got? If it was the STT then it was maybe old stock and more of a clearance price. As the STT Pro has been about for quite a while.

I’m also not sure if you price includes VAT. Which if not makes them quite a bit more money.

Not knocking it though.

But to give a comparison.

235/85R16 STT Pro are £117 each at TyreDirect.

STT PRO!

God it feels nice to be taken at one's word!

It doesn't matter about vat in this case, because at £88 a corner, I was comparing to something like £83 a corner for the insa', like for like, without vat.

The bloke I get to do my tyres beats every one of the online prices I could find at the time, hence why I went with him. If I could REALLY be arsed to prove my point further I could give him a ring and get a price for coopers and Insa's for 2019, but I really can't be bothered to any further, I've proved what I stated.

I wouldn't take it too personally, people are just stating their own experiences, which will be different depending on individual circumstances.

In any case, it is well known that threads about tyres or oil always lead to a bunfight!:D

Apologies, It must of been my time of the month yesterday!! :p

Many, many years ago I had a Mk1 Cavalier like this

Same colour anorl  Anway, it was a 1.6L, not that fast off the mark, but a lovely, smooth cruising machine and I loved it. Someone in a brand new Mk1 Fiat Uno pulled out in front of me and wrote both cars off. Reason I'm mentioning this is that I was student at the time and so with the insurance money I bought one of these.

Same colour anorl :oops::oops:
The tyres were very skinny and it turned out to be crackin in the snow. With the high ground clearance it could cut through very deep snow.

Agreed, I had a Citroen GSA estate running on 155's fantastic in snow and mud. :)

Have you seen the off-road / 4x4 2CVs??

2CV and Dyane are very good off road, and very versatile. You can also remove the deckchair style rear seat and front seat, and carry very large loads in the resulting space. And if you ding them, they are bolt together, so any bent panels can be easily replaced.

Moved in to my first house with mine as a small removal van. With the seats out and the roof rolled back I could get all sorts of large items in it :D
If I'd kept it, it would have been worth a few bob now

Yes. Not so many about these days, but they still have a following. Very frugal on petrol as well.

@Turboman how's the cruising going? I've lost track of your thread. Don't know if it's just me, but sometimes I stop getting Alerts for threads I've commented on

I don't find the alerts system is that consistent either. Watched Threads seems to be more effective, but only if there have been new posts in the thread you are watching.

I am still notching up some hours, on the Leicester Line at the moment, been up as far as Market Harborough, but now turned and just killing time until the Nene opens, and I can head back for March to get my boat painted.
I have been on and off the boat, due to shoreside commitments, trip to Wales in the car, visiting my parents, and I have had manflu, not that serious, but dragging on, and making me feel a bit crap from time to time.

Sounds good (apart from the man flu) I'm going to look up Market Harborough to see exactly how far you got :)

Crickey! On a level with Birmingham. You'll be North of the Wall next :p

Sadly not, the system doesn't go that far. I can go nearly as far as Lancaster on the West side, and up to places like Skipton, Goole and Hull on the East. There are canals in Scotland, but they aren't joined on to the the English system, except via the open Sea.

You've read my mind. I was wondering how far the canal system went a second after I wrote that post. I know there's no canals up here :D
