after i long phone call before the 100 mile trip i found out there was no inner arches sills were gone play in front diff but one supplied.

i was after a good disco but theres not many about, then i thought all discos have no sills and no matter what disco i buy as soon as you pull it to bits to make a real on, off roader there will be welding to do.

its now been about 7 weeks and the £s keep going up, i knew this would be the case as i rebuilt a sj from the ground up.

i wish i took pics before i started all the welding to show how bad can really be fixed with hard work, sheet metal and a good welder.

the sills were plated up but i cut them out and used 100x40 box as rock sliders and made them part of the floor.

also on the bought list

2 x second hand wings
2 x doors
1x rear door
31 10 50 15 special traxs
30 wheel spacers
guardian winch bumper
ep9 super winch
2" plastic arches

a few pics taken this morning after changing my wheels over while im clocking up the road miles,

You haven't said what you're spending the dosh on other than the sills.

At first glance the car has a lot of potential. It's bob tailed although I can't tell to what standard but it seems to look well balanced. It has a winch at each end so you can get out of trouble easily.nit seems to have HD front hubs and shafts too.

It the lift and suspension was done right then once the welding is sorted, and to be honest that always the longest job on a disco, it should just be plain maintenance and repair work.

Are there any specific issues with it?

Hey that looks good mate and has given me an idea. I have a roof rack in my shed the same as yours..can I ask how you've managed to mount the spots to it and what size lights are they?

Yes the lights are 115mm mounted on 2" angle bolted to the roof rack , quite simple if u need a pic Just ask

Well it's been in g4 colours and stickers for about 18 month now so time for a change, will be keeping it orange but just ordered a totally different sticker kit, I really don't think it will be everybody's cup of tea. The wife does not like it outside the house as it is , ,they just don't understand.

I like the G4 look on D1s! Thinking of doing the same on mine, but dunno if I can be bothered with the hassle of changing the colour.

Did you spray, brush or roll?
