Just fitted a new CV to my 1995 90 300 TDi and checked/shimmed the end float.
But struggle to find a bolt to screw in properly, as per the manual, which just says 'appropriate bolt'. I managed to get the M12 swivel streering lock limiter to catch a half a thread and did it that way. But doesn't seem to be M12, defo not M10.
Any tips on which size of bolt will fit, as going to start on a strip and rebuild of the off side hub next week? (like to get my ducks in a row before undoing bolts).
thanks

I think the later ones may be metric. I can get a metric bolt into mine, and it's a 2006 model. Usually, I can move the shaft out with a hooked seal pick on the threads, with is enough to get the circlip and washer on when I've replaced the drive flanges. So I get by without having to put a bolt in at all.

Funnily enough that is the same thing I use and have never had an issue, or if I am feeling very lazy I use the circlip pliers I am about to use to put the circlip on! I also don't have a bolt that fits but have never looked into it as have always managed with the hook method.
