Just sitting here in the back of the Ninety Pickup, watch the sun set over Merrow, waiting for the RAC......
Few days ago, girlfriend phoned and said the engines went bang and then rattled and lost all power.....RAC recovered her home.
Took the rocker cover off to find no.8 valve push rod had snapped, had spares so replaced all pushrods and regapped the clearances.
Today, she phones up and says the engine is making strange noises popping etc and has lost all power again, but this time no bang.
So I am on the way home from work, by now, she has phoned the RAC but will be 90mins to 2 hours wait for a recovery truck, so I head to Merrow....she takes the Range Rover home and now I am sitting here in the load bed watching the sun set......
Will investigate later....but this is why it is best to have a spare car when you own a Land Rover product....we have a Fiat 500 that is the spare car, so if the L322 or the Ninety goes pop, one of us uses the Fiat....
Trouble is the L322 gearbox is hanging on by a thread currently, so hopefully that will hold while I fix the Ninety!!
