Hi y'all, something has bugged me for ages so I thought I would throw it out there.
Because I am an old fart and stiffer than woody in a porn film I always drop the car to access to climb in and out. One thing that bugs the life out of me is when I do it the car drops like a stone on the front RH and both rears but the front LH just meanders down at about the same speed I can walk. It has done this for a long time and with different valve blocks and driver packs. The system works fine apart from that.
Its just one of those things that bugs me for no real reason!
One other thing, I had mentioned on here a long time ago about the EAS inhibit not working with the doors or tailgate but does work with the brake pedal. Am I right in saying that the wire that signals this is one of the ones in the RH kick panel? I seem to remember seeing a diagram showing it at one time.

I wonder of there is a restriction in the bag inlet that makes it slow to deflate. A flappy bit of rubber over the inlet could result in your symptoms.
I did actually look for that a while back when I replaced the bags, it was doing it with the old bags too. I wonder if it is something in the pipe itself, I have checked for kinks but nowt, I guess one day I will replace the line and see if anything changes. It doesnt really affect the operation but is just one of those things that you go "What the F"
 
Then I guess the restriction is in the valve block on that line to the solenoid or the solenoid control as the rest are fine.

Only other possibility is the height sensor giving funny readings causing the ECU to squirm a bit.
Could try swapping the front sensors across.

When the front goes down down slowly can you hear the solenoid clicking? Could be a sign of a dodgy sensor, or maybe a weak connection from the driver pack. Unsure if it can result in this symptom however.

Don't think its a height sensor as it gets there in the end (slowly)

Although the not being able to inhibit with a door/tailgate needs investigation, but don't think the problem.

Yep, in the OP he says: "It has done this for a long time and with different valve blocks and driver packs."
Sounds like he's replaced almost everything so it's a head scratcher.
 
@cornishboater I happen to be in Ferndown until Thurs lunchtime. If you want you can bring it over & I can cast an extra pair of eyes on ti, plus I have my Nanocom with me.
Thanks for the offer Pete, I am away for a couple of days otherwise I would have taken you up on it.
It is not really a major problem just one of those things for the old brain cells. Having said that I am going to be replacing both of the front sensors when it gets warmer so I think that is my last outstanding thing with the EAS. Apart from this it is functioning well at the moment. The rears are new and they were all calibrated when I fitted them. All of the shocks were replaced at the same time as the bags a couple of years ago, the slow drop was there before that.
As for the comment about the sensor getting there in the end, sometimes although the car appears to be down the lights on the dash sometimes keep calling to lower so maybe it could be the sensor. The other thought was that I have cut and joined all other kick panel wires with the exception of the RH one carrying the signal wires, I had sort of ruled this out. Now thinking about it I wonder if the issue with the inhibit may be linked in some way.
My major to do at the moment is the heater pipes, it decided to blow the coolant out in a big gush a few weeks back and I have been putting off the inevitable dash out job. I have now got all of the parts (new pipes, 'O' Rings and clamp etc) I have also got the walnut dash components that I got recently to put in at the same time. It never ends........

Yes I'm here quite often at the moment (usually Tues to Fridays every other week). We are refurbishing my parents old house after they passed away.

For your "slow lowering" thing, it might be worth me bringing my manual control box to try. That connects directly to the driver pack inputs, so takes the sensors & ECU out of the equation. Simply a case of holding the exhaust & two front buttons at same time, and see how fast it lowers then.

If both lower together, then ECU & sensors are more likely. If it behaves the same, then issue must be airbags, pipes or shocks.
