Silicone seal Roof Rack mounting bracket?

Hello everyone.

I've just fitted a Brownchurch Roof rack (group effort) and found out the channels in the roof rails get full of water when it rains as there's no plastic covers with the roof rack obviously.
(On a side note, before fitting the roof rack I had to get a rear Brownchurch bracket slots cut out as the 'stamped' holes weren't straight and the bolts wouldn't align to do up). Good quality control huh?!

I was going to fill the hole where the bracket bolts in the roof of the freelander (see photo) with 3M marine grade silicone sealant I fitted my sharkfin antenna with already,
but was thinking on second thoughts I wont be able to pick it out to get to the bolts to remove the roof rack in the future. (Catch 22).

That was the only option I can think of, other than cutting some little foam pieces and then somehow sticking these over the cap head bolts to stop them corroding and getting full of leaves and bits off the trees when parked up.
What did you guys do, did you just leave it and let it rust/get full of debris?

one way, would be to melt some wax and paint the bolt heads/body work, then fill with your silicone, allow to dry, then it will still be removable if need be

Why not buy a stock blanks and cut a little to put roof leg through?

Also where did you get your roof rack from?

Thank you for another good idea Winu, I didn't know those parts existed for a Freelander.

I'll implement both ideas I think!

1) Add some silicone sealant around the cap bolt heads and inside (it's still leaking somehow even when done up tight with the rubber seal under the roof mount brackets and dripping on the seat) and also buy some of those finishing plates and cut a little bit out with a dremel to get it to fit (I'll make a cardboard template first).
