On my way home today from work my D2 V8 auto started to shudder when I reached about 60/70 mph, anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this.

I should add that it only happens when I let off the gas peddle; everything is smooth on acceleration and doesn't rumble until it coasts, in other words. Feels like I'm going over a rumble strip! I feel it through the floor mostly, doesn't shake the steering wheel all too much.

I had a rumble when I had sloppy UJ's. Worth checking them, it's only a quick wobble

Uj's seem to be ok.

Check the swivels, too much play can cause this.

Yep wheel nuts are tight. How do I go about checking the swivels?

I had a similar problem and it was the track rod ends that had gone, I also replaced the steering damper.

The track rod end were replaced 2 months ago, but the steering damper who knows.

Well after alot of head scratching and so on it turns out that all that needed done was the rear passenger wheel needed balancing. A love cheap fix at £5.
