Gentlemen, I have an urge for an Offroad camper van. Should I sell my super reliable D1 and buy a Mitsubishi Delica? Is that 2.8 any good? Do I need therapy? I await your valuable advice.

Yes, get one. I don't know why cos they are ugly as sin, but I have always kind of fancied one!
Sarah hates them, which is probably why I haven't actually got one now, but I like how flexible the inside is, you can fold the seats down to sleep on, and the main seats swivel so you can turn it into a kind of living room.
They have a massive following on forums and stuff.

We've been in a Delicia, much to our surprise. We went to Georgia (the real one), and some of the places we visited needed 4WD to get there. Delicias are imported from Japan in bulk, when they are clapped out. With no MOT or anything similar in Georgia, but a fine ability in keeping anything with wheels rolling, the motors suit the market well.They were surprising capable, with locking diffs and all.
This was not always a good thing, as they used the locking diff as a substitute for any kind of tread on the tyres. You can see from the photos the damage done. thei

We think alike James. But unfortunately, so do our women as I have been unsuccessful in convincing Belinda to swap her Dodge for one.
I can't fit 5 cars on my drive so that would mean my replacing my Disco with a Delica which for me would be a difficult decision. Looking at one tomorrow, I'll keep you posted.
It depends really, I guess it depends what you are going to do with it, cos one would be loads better for expeditions as I reckon they are good cruising cars. I also have the car fitting on the drive problem!

Here's a few, apologies to anyone bored by other people's holiday snaps. It is a truly beautiful country, little visited. We went with a small group, and I kept wishing I had my 90, a trip I might make one day.We met a French couple in a 110, who were travelling through the whole region. I was very jealous.

Expensive and over-rated in my opinion. Plus weedy engines and no air con (that's for ones I could afford).

We like delicas and have had multiple mitsubishis with the 2.8 auto in it. Good engine. We have a 4x4 mazda bongo that although not quite as rugged for offroad work, is great on the road. So its horses for courses.
